What can you see?

Parks and open spaces are great places to get a feel for what's around you. If you stand in the middle of a park, or on the highest point, you can see so much more than you usually can in the busy city.

Because parks have often remained unchanged for may years, you can also get a real sense of the history of the area by observing what you can see around the park, and what may have changed over the years.

The pictures below are all of Plaistow Park in Newham at different times in history.

What can you see in the pictures that is the same in each case? What has changed? Make a list.
What do you think will have changed in the buildings and roads which surround the park? How many things can you think of?
