Being Remembered

People of all religions like to put up memorials in churchyards and cemeteries to remember friends and realtions who have died. Sometimes memorials are put up to people who died in wars or disasters.

Gravestones and memorials can be very ornate or decorated, or they may be quite simple. They can contain carved pictures or designs, or just simple words to say who they are remembering.

How people make their memorials can say a lot about their community and culture. These activities will help you to think about how people want to be remembered.

This activity is designed to be printed out and taken with you on a visit to a local graveyard or cemetery.
