Public park on slightly undulating ground laid out by Woolwich Borough Council in the mid C20th, laid out on earlier parkland. A Number of mature trees date from this period, including oaks and lime trees.The area was undeveloped well into the 20th century. The park has been the site of summer events run by Charlton Athletic football club, and the Eltham Fair
