Bury Lodge Gardens is on lands once belonging to Bury Lodge and to the nearby Salisbury House. Bury Lodge was an older house than Salisbury House, but was demolished in 1935 when Edmonton Urban District Council purchased Salisbury House and 2 acres of land. In 1936 Bury Lodge Recreation Ground was laid out as public open space with an area of formal gardens, for which the Council sanctioned expenditure of £300 on rose trees. Along the southern boundary is Salmon's Brook.
